ZLI Launches the Nightlight Conversations
The Zoological Lighting Institute is delighted to announce the launch of its blog, the Nightlight Conversations. We’re using the blog as an opportunity to take a deeper, quirky look at the science and conversations around light and the environment, and invite you to join us.
Starting off the blog will be our “Lessons on Light and Security” series by ZLI staff writer Jordan Borgman. The series aims to take a nuanced look at the link between crime and artificial light at night, or ALAN, and to tackle the question of whether or not ALAN makes us safer. Borgman has a background in security and human rights research and astronomy, and uses these dual lenses to create not only a compelling portrait of the relationship between light and security, but to ask what it truly means to be safe.
