ZLI Campaigns
Exploring the Value of the ZLI Mission

ZLI Campaigns make the importance of ZLI's Mission, to support the sciences of light and life through the arts for animal welfare and wildlife conservation evident. Because light is so central to life, the scientific appreciation of light is crucial for many arenas that don't often think of it.

As of 2026, ZLI Campaigns include the following:

ZLI's Accommodation Campaign featuring the roosting habits of bats while underscoring issues of light in housing (for all).

ZLI's Activation Campaign featuring the endocrinology of sharks while underscoring issues of sexual health (for all).

ZLI's Adaptation Campaign featuring the evolutionary adaptations of cetaceans while confronting issues of bias and anti-Asian hate.

ZLI's Bearanoia Campaign featuring the neurology of bears while confronting issues of anxiety inducing factors such as bullying.

ZLI's Insect Apocalypse Campaign featuring insect phototaxis and the relationships of insects to food security.

ZLI's Monkey See Campaign featuring distinctions of learning versus training in primates, while addressing sustainability in the device driven digital age.

ZLI's Ohtohime's Time Campaign featuring the role of light in the life cycles of sea turtles, whilst stressing whole life ecological contributions.

ZLI's Save a Billion Birds! Campaign featuring bird-glass collision threat, whilst emphasizing the need for expanded nature access for all.
