The Green Year™ Anime Fund supports the development of an original animated story,
that features a birder's journey to complete 'Big Year' counts despite lingering hardships caused by the Atlantic Slave Trade.
The Green Year™ complicates perspectives on animal welfare and wildlife conservation in a humanizing multi-cultural anime with science at its core.
Produced in Japan, it emphasizes dialogue and positive action over indifference and violence, strongly supportive of diaspora populations. At its core, The Green Year™ is about
birds and access, exploring thirty-three species in depth across a three season arc that takes us from Alabama to Brazil, Liberia, and the UK.
Through visually compelling, globally accessible storytelling, The Green Year™ translates cutting-edge science and conservation ideas into episodic narratives that resonate across generations.
By contributing, you’re helping to bring an amazing story to life at its earliest stages—shaping ideas, characters, and worlds that can inspire real-world change. It’s a meaningful and
enjoyable way to support the mission: advancing the sciences of animal welfare and wildlife conservation the power of art.
